Proper charging and discharging steps should be followed
Been installing for 6 years and never once seen an exploded cap.I've seen some peak out fluidsbut never one "blow up". The current depends on the resitance of your skin. which pn average is around 90Kohms per cm. You cannot get shocked. If you're holding a wrench and cross the terminals you will get burnt. not shocked.

I've been installing for 3 and I have seen one. Not a large explosion but an explosion none the less. Complete with a lound bang and bad smells and bubbling stuff I wouldn't touch. They can blow up just like any battery you just don't want to be the guy that it happens to. Shock/burn in this case it's the same thing. Your previous post made it seem as though there was little danger, we both know thast there is enough energy to fuse the wrench in your hand to the terminals. So what kind of damage would that heat do to your hand/body? That was the danger I was talking about. Especialy cause it would happen so fast.

it is not possible to break an amp by removing the wires from it. you can take them out in any order. i think you should probably go to shop and let them do it.
