I like when car audio smart people use the >200kHz effects to terrify the poor car audio <20kHz consumers.

Not to mention all the expensive copper they replaced with this cheap piece of plastic. LOL Unless of course this wire is alot thicker than the same gauge wire without it.

Benny77 can you compare yours to some normal 4ga to see what the difference in diameter is?

I dont think it's much thicker than normal 4 gauge if at all. Seems to be good quality wire, lotsa fine tinned strands, I can see how it would be more flexible without the stoopid fluxcapacitortoob in it though.

OK so it is probably not the same strand count as normal wire. Wonder if anyone is going to have problems putting too much juice through it. As I doubt it would be true 4ga with that piece in there.

the plastic piece doesnt take up that much cross sectional area.

I dont want to get into that as this thread is about a DC cable and I already feel bad I went off topic on the cat 5 thought. I think an important thing to say at this point is wire is wire in the DC and 60 Hz world (though aluminum vs copper is an issue, and the number of strands is an issue, for car audio cable jacket material is important, and true wire gauge size is an issue...) I am not sure there are any true revelations in basic power wire theory or application that really matter. The Monster product appears to be a quality product probably sold at a price slightly above market.

Again I would rather walk on broken glass than buy a monster cable product.

lol I think they tell all electricians that when they're training, my dad says the same thing, which I guess is why he gave me some wire from an old light fixture when I asked if he had any speaker wire for my turntables lol

Yuli I think you can get it at 2001 Audio/Video, or maybe Oxford on Kennedy

Total bullshit.

You guys have to understand. Copper wire and coax cable and speaker cable is a commodity.. sure you can fancy up the casing a bit to make it flexible and pretty but what counts in price is the copper.... In order to make more than comodity pricing profits companies have to create a fancy name and marketing bullshit to bamboozle all you poor bastards without university level electrical engineering or physics. Its called Snake Oil!

Remember you do not have to actually prove that a patent does anything usefull.. Just that you thought of it first. Many patents are even just manufacturing methods or style patents to make it look pretty and has nothing to do with performance... You think the patent office actually reviews claims and builds them and tests them to validate claims?

guys... instead of playing PS3 and Nintendo all weekend. spend some time on this site

have a good weekend.. good wife just poored me a beer.

For what your average electrician does every day, aside from material (aluminum vs copper) for them wire IS wire.

Once you go past 60hzAC applications though, things can get complicated. I'm no wire voodoo believer but there are a few things that are important.
