It happened that I just read about this HD Radio on their web site.
From what I understood, audio is transmitted in a same way as before, with added digital part that contains no audio but only "helper" information that may be used by receiver to reduce noise, interference, etc. Digital part also contains some textual information, like song titles and such.
If my understanding is correct, then if signal you receiving on regular FM is strong and there is no interference - there will be no difference in sound quality.
