hefad unit install kit question

just curious if they are all basically the same.My friends shop has some and 2001 video has some(different companies)and i was just wondering if they are all basically the same.I know to make sure its the one for my car.I am going to install a deck in my car for the first time and i have the wire harness and i need a kit now.I can get it for $20.any help is appreciated as this is my first head unit install
