thanks guys, some good info..
i maybe have a 500 dollar budget thats the thing, my car is a suzuki escudo similar to a toyota rav 4
wat would u advise

$500 is not that bad if it's just an amp and sub youre looking for. Ask some of the site sponsors or check the for sale section for some great deals...If $500 is for the whole system, you may have more of a challenge getting good quality stuff as the "You get what you pay for" thing tends to invoke itself...

Well, you need to know what's the rms rating on the sub. Don't look at max, rms ftw!

ya i know the thing is ma sub right now is 1000watts max and i know thats not the rms cos its weak, so i dont know, wat rms amp could i use if ya have an idea

What company/ model number are on the sub??
1000wmax means nothing towards your RMS rating, I still cant figure out how they figure out these MAX ratings?
