Help finding a small amp

Hi folks, newbie with my first post here.

I might be looking for a small discrete amp for the sound system I'm installing in my '90 Mustang GT hatchback. It doesn't have to be powerfull, just something to add that depth you get from amplified sound. My problem is that the amps I'm finding are all those great big flashy "hey look at me" things. I really don't want to take up the real estate in the back. I was hoping to find something small enough to fit back behind the head unit on the trans tunnel where te oem amp was. Something the size of a single din head unit would probably work fine. I know units like that used to exist. A long time ago I installed systems in my first 2 cars and the amps I used fit up under the dash. They weren't meant to be seen. Does anyone make something like that anymore?

I should point out I'm being painfully cheap with this set up. The car has a future that does not include tunes, but I want something in the mean time, so I'll be looking for something used, probably on ebay. I just need a manufacturer and model number to search or ask for. Any help would be geratly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Wow. Those were fast replies.

I haven't bought the head unit yet but I'm leaning towards the Dual XDM6820 from Crutchfield. At $80 USD, the price is right and the reviews are all good, although at only 18/50 watts it may not have enough umph to make good sound.

teamaerostar2, 2 x 35 might be just right. How big is it?

I'm just looking for info right now. Once I have the cd player installed I'll figure out if I want an amp or not.

FYI, I bought the car not too long ago. The seller removed his head unit and the rear 5x7 speakers but left some 5-1/4" 2 way Cerwin Vegas in the doors and 3-1/2" 2 way Rockford Fosgates in the dash that I'm hoping will work ok. I just want to install a head unit and rear speakers to keep the exhaust from driving me nuts. Finding an inexpensive amp would be a bonus.
