I got a JL W3 D2 and a friend of mine has two crossfire amps for sale. Please help me decide which I should use. The sub is 250rms.

One is the CFA302 the other is the TEK50.2

The specs on the CFA302 are:
RMS: 75 x 2 @ 4ohm
Max: 300 x 1
(doesnt say @ what ohm)

Specs on Tek50.2 are:
RMS/4ohm: 50 x 2
Bridge Power, Max: 200w x 1

Which amp would give this sub the most power, which would you go for? Do you think the CFA is @4ohm as well like the tek...therefor putting out more power?

Thanks,
Matt

ps: This is all the info I could find on Crossfires site.

What impedance are the coils on the sub?

Looks like the CFA302 is 300 watts at 4 ohms bridged: http://forum.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=292

Older amp, but probably more powerful than the Tek amp, which were the more entry level line for Crossfire a few years back, I believe.

Looks like the 50.2 does about 150 watts into 4 ohms.

Looks like the CFA is your choice. Voice coils in series, 4ohm mono load on amp, which would be the way to draw the most power from these amps, and it looks like the CFA is the higher powered amp.

Wire the sub in series and connect it to the bridges outputs of the amp. It will give the sub a minimum of 300w rms to the sub, equally to each voice coil. A series circuit means that you will hook the - terminal on the first voice coil to the + terminal on the second voice coil. With the two left over terminals, one - and one +, these get hooked to the repective terminals on the amp where it is labelled for bridged operation.
