You say you replaced a CompVR 15" with two of these 12's? IMO any CompVR from at least the past couple of years is a major improvement in performance over those old Pioneer's.
I was never a fan of those Pioneer's but they were pretty cheap and sold well. Pioneer did have at the same time in their lineup for a few dollars more the "nickel" or "bullet" series of drivers as I liked to call them as they were nickel coloured and had the "magic bullets" on the cone. They were fantastic sounding and performing subs and for the price were right at the top of their pricepoint and were easily worth the extra dollars over those diamond series.

 

I think you should have kept the Comp Vr's over those Pioneers, they are only 160 watts rms from what I read from zinger002 post.

 

He probably means they are louder as he's going from 1 15 to 2 12's.

However I did have to scratch my head for a minuet too when he said they sound better. 2 12" CVR's would be a major impovement on those pioneer's. and they can be had fairly cheap. On the other hand, they aren't the worst sub ever built....but there is much better value out there to be had.

there was another one that came out b4 those, the premier line with a shiny silver cone. Those were pretty good, or well ok for back in the day.
