I just bough hifonics speakers from USA.... 1st I was going to get Infinity Kappas Perfects but the difference of $200usd was a big factor in my almost unexciting budget.... never heard the amps but the $70 6.5" components rated at 100rms sound GREAT! (for the price lol.... they aren't that good).... whenever i buy something from states I send it to ups store and pick it up... saves A LOT of $$$... if you are located near (2h or less) the boarder its a trip worth doing since You don't have to pay the brokerage charges and customs. ooh and shipping to USA is usually FREE :]..)

ha same one as I go to.. there is one on military rd in Niagara falls... 2min of the highway after the border.... you just ship it to their location with a phone number and they call you up when its there.... you pay $5 for small, 10 for medium, 15for large package and $1 a day for storage.... so if you order multiple items make sure to tell them to put it in one package,,, best way so far....

oh p.s. if the package is claimed under 20cad the customs wont bother with checking it so there is no brokerage or taxes on it....just shipping... so if the seller is willing to lower the value that they put on the package to 15usd your safe to ship it to your door...

^^^ and when the item gets "lost" or "damaged" in transit and can only be insured for that lower amount, you are SOL.

hhaha well that's why You always use paypal since you deal with them if something goes missing or DOA.... the packaging has nothing to do with the actual value since You have the receipt....

internet shipping is safe these days, and i know it sux for local shops, but sometimes their commission is out of the blue.... if the prices will be 20% higher then those You order over the net I wouldn't bother... but sometimes they reach 600%...(like my full engine-muffler stainless exhaust system for $120- yes is it stainless, and yes it fits, and yes the cat is street legal[OBX cat]) in the shop-$700+) which is just stupid....

I'm a student, I don't pay taxes :P.....

P.S. F%$K THE SYSTEM!! :P

P.s2> shouldn't tax be 15%? like i said if it was logical I would buy from the shop... but 600% sounds like a rape in a daylight to me....

P.s.3> look i can feel your pain here as you are a vendor of some sort... but that's your competition(and its fair, since they are not stealing this stuff), and the customer has the right to choose.....

i dont understand how the Canadian goverment has anything to do with purchases in the US.
they like to hit us anywhere they can. its all a money grab for them. a good example is buying a used car. you pay taxes on something that has the taxes payed for when it was new. they charge taxes every single time it is sold. Houses, same...

as far as keeping my money here. i will try before i buy US. but there are some things we just cant buy here in Canada.
im seriously considering waiting and saving to get something here with warranty.

thnx

hinfonics sucks ... purchased a bxi1608d for my gf... as soon as i put it in the back plate started rattling like an sob... so i take it off lay down a strip of tape and put it back on *breaking the warranty seal of course... but hey nothings going to go wrong right?* 5 months after buying it the damn thing burns out 2 caps, the output power supply and a tonne of other stuff... currently being repaired at s&s, when i took it there they had 2 others, exact same model, exact same problem.... just so you know....
