Hey guys, well i bought my gf a bxi-1608D for christmas and last week the damn thing crapped out on her.... i was wondering if anyone knows any shops that might be able to repair the amp in the GTA?

You can always bring it to S&S Electronics and they will definitely take a look at it.

They are located in Scarborough at Brimley & Ellesmere. They have repaired one of my Kicker amps and are in the process of repairing another.

They offer a free estimate of the work ahead of time.

All right. In my experience "the gift" does not always get you tax free gear like that, it is up to the customs, and they can do what they want, and you wont be able to argue with them. I have paid full duty whether I wanted or not in the past on items marked as "gift" and this Sundown is the perfect example as that is what I did with this unit. If you buy it from USA, you have no warranty, and they could stop bs'ing you, as that is the USA/Canada law for imports/exports. You have to buy from Smartass in Canada to get any warranty. They can tell you in the US that you get full warranty and that will make you happy, but when it comes to service you're done. Ask on this forum if you dont believe me. The only thing that may save you is that Sundown is a new company and customer service is amazing. You will end up paying the same amount with Smartass, but with him you will have full warranty, ask him. My unit is not for sale unless I get the asking price.
