If you wanna go cheap check out crappy tire & walmart They have some pioneer and sony gear. I thought about it but that would probably not be very good for my alpines.

if you got 1 ohm subs, then you would need either a amp stable at 2 ohm or .5 ohm. because of the cirquitry of it. not many amps can handle .5 ohm loads, so you would still need a decent amp thats stable at 2 ohms to run those subs.

Yeah why wouldn't it work? They will work fine, as long as you don't push them beyond their limits.

I just picked up a UltraLinear 1500X so what I might do for temp use is pick up a Power Xt charger kit you can charge it in the house leave it in the car whatever it maybe, has 2 12 volt outputs 900 max amps 315 amp effective its like 50$ better then a battery charger it will give steady flow so I hope if not I need it anyway as my battery seems to be slowly dying do to me always leaving the lights on

Well the system Im gonna build in the summer i hope with my car audio parts for a home stereo next year. It'll be ran at parties for hours, also can't cost me a crap load of money though. I'll need an amp to power the two alpines to start with and whatever else for the 6x9's. This is if my car kicks the bucket at this point without fixin my muffler ($350) it won't pass an Emissions Test and its due for that.
