Hooked on Glass
I am upgrading the steroe in my jag and when i went to the shop.he showed me the focals and the morels..walked right by the polk and the kenwood lol.He talked alot about polyglass and quality.I then went on a frantic search for the best deal i could find on a pair of 165a1's then the morels ,which I decided not to go with because of no polyglass.I now see clarion makes a pair of srp1620m comps that are a lot better in price, same rms.Are the focals over rated ,will these clarions keep me happy.....is polyglass really that awesome.Someone help I'm getting head aches from staring at my coputer figuring this out.I thought this was going to be a simple weekend upgrade, but now I'm collecting pieces, looking for deals and changing my mind a million times. What i do know is it's adding up quick,

i own polyglass series 6.5"
it is simply the name they have for this series of speakers......it is referring to little beads of glass that is injected into the cone to maintain stiffness while decreasing weight.
they are significantly nicer than the entry level access series in my opinion.
you would be looking around $425-475 most likely for the polyglass components.
lol, and the polyglass series is no where near the most exspensive gear. price tag on any K series and utopia speakers by focal will dwarf that of the polyglass.
nevertheless, they are very very nice speakers, you should give them serious consideration if you don't mind spending the dough

I have a set of the 6.5" Clarions from last year. I love these speakers. I will be more than happy to meet up around the GTA to let you have a listen to them. Also have several SQ trophies running them. Giving them 230rms per side from a Memphis 4ch bridged and they absolutely love the power. Xover is at 70hz with fully deadened doors the midbass is amazing. The highs were a little bright as they use a titanium tweet, hooked them up at -3db and they are fine. I had silk JLs before these. These are the ones I have here....
