how are audiobahns?

hey
im just wondering what people think about audiobahn products

i bought a used subwoofer system
i got the 12" audiobahn immortal series subwoofer (apparently one out of the four voicecoils is broken...but it styl pounds pretti good)
i got the audiobahn A2300HCT 2 channel amplifier
and the JL audio W7 enclosure (with that touch of red accent cloth in the center of the box)

i got that whole system including wiring and installation for $400

i don't really know much about audiobahn, but what do u guys think about it?
was it worth the money?

Ive never really heard any other proper subs to actualy compare it with so i don't really know.

Audiobahn is long out of business FYI. Anout the only part of the deal you got is the box and the wiring and install.

Seems a bit high in price but meh. I have Audiobahns as a result of a trade. I traded $150 FS GC for 2x 12" AW1205T's, Sealed Box, RF Punch 50a2 and a Kicker KX400.1. Did you at least get 1/0 awg wiring out of that?

no i am using the 4 gauge wiring and i currently don't have a capacitor
but i don't really see any lights dimming in my car or any of that power fading things.

is there really a big difference between using the 4 gauge wires and the 1/0 gauge wires?

I used Audiobahn amps mostly for cosmetics. They were so-so. The 2300hct seemed to have less power than an old PPI 1200 watt "art series" amp I used for the same subs in a different vehicle.

yeah they look good

would it make a difference if i place the whole subwoofer system so it would be facing the inside of the car
its in my trunk...2001 pontiac sunfire. and the trunk really rattles a lottt

currently its in that jl audio box...single sub and it is facing the back...of the car

my guess is if i turn it the other way around..and fold down the rear seats so the sub would be facing the inside of the car, it would perform much louder in the cabin rite? and also reduce the trunk rattle?

I went from 4gauge to 1/0 and I noticed a huge difference. I used to be a strobelight on wheels, but now, there is a very minute pulse that is almost unnoticeable. The interior lights don't even dim. I'm not sure if this was just the wiring or that I managed to fix a few bad connections even.

I have a 97 Cavalier, so basically the same trunk as yours. I originally had mine against the seat with subs facing the seat. It sounded alright, but would get twice as loud with the trunk lid slightly open. It was suggested to turn them around, box against rear seat and subs facing rear of trunk. They are much louder now. To gain a little more if you are not using rear speakers take them out. We did this to mine as I will not be using any rear speakers in this car, not a big difference but seemed to help a bit. The rattles are going to be there no matter which way you face them. Sound deadener will be about the only thing that is going to help with the rattles.
