Question How does ebay do it?

How do people on ebay sell so cheap??? I found a head unit that is $279 on clearance sale at cardomain but a store is selling them for $207 on ebay. How do they sell for this cheap? It is like impossible for them to make a profit. The store has a great reputation and I want to by this cd player but it seems too good to be true?

Lets see, is it a refurb and they don't tell you or they tell you what you want to hear and you beleive it? Are they a authorized dealer that can provide you warranty? Do they even have the unit in stock or hope to reel you in and switch you to something different 4 weeks after they have your money? Any of those situations sound familiar? E-burn is a great way to take unnecessary risks to save a couple of $. If you like the service from the people that you know, pay them for that service and know that you will always be looked after properly in the long run.

Not to mention slimey distributors that sell it at distributor cost to keep there numbers up. They do it to rotate stock and keep themselves in the good books with the manufactures. This is how they keep lines.

I was reading the store's warranty thing and it says everything has a 1 year warranty. Although I do understand paying more money for better service. And that is usually how I roll but right now I am so short on cash that bargains sound great. But then again, if I buy the bargain I could end up loosing more in the end. Hmmm, this is a tough one.

I gave up on E-Bay after my 3rd problem transaction that has left me with 3 amplifiers ($600USD) that don't work and an amp board that never arrived. Believe it or not, you can no longer make a paypal claim for car stereo stuf that never arrives because of too many instances of this happening.

The brutal thing is that guys like me who have some quality stuff to sell can't get a reasonable price because someone else is low-balling a hunk of crap at the same time.
