i dont think ebay has a warrenty period. if it breaks your sol, so what you payed 1/2 of what you would in store, but when i breaks your back to square one and could have avoided the situation by buying from a reputable dealer!
You're right. I won't get "professionalism", "people that know their sh*t", and warranty. Instead, eBay has what I'm really looking for.

But seriously, though, if I were to buy new, I would choose local. Problem is, I don't often desire something new. But that's enough to my grains of salt.
On the dealer's side, If I am in a store, I'm in there to buy something. You won't see me in there wasting anybody's time just talking to the rep.

My friend is very big in buying off ebay BUT BEWARE if it says clarion or pioneer it may not be my friend bought a NVIDIA graphic card at half price it worked well until playing games it was getting slightly warm too much for that model he took off the heatsink and it said NVIDIA everything looked the same as a genuine card until he overclocked it he found it was a Chinese fraud because the pipelines and core frequencies where different
Also some of the stock comes straight from factory and bypasses wholesalers.

Btw most warrantees start from purchase date so if you don’t get the goods for 2 weeks well that’s 2 weeks of the warranty down the drain!!!

Sorry but 90% of ebay stuff is crap

... no offence taken... the idea of 2loud4you was never to replace a good shop but only to give more options.

back when I started there was no way of getting the few products I carry in to North America... most places didn't see the point in carrying SPL accessories because it's such a small part of the market.

Carrying DD, Incriminator and other lines like that was basically an afterthought and was mostly done because the opportunity was there, so I figured I may as well give it a shot.

I do well enough with my 'day job' to make it that I don't have to carry a lot of product. I do it for fun - as a bit of a hobby.

I bought from ebay for the first time a few weeks ago.
I've bought from online stores before, but never e-bay.

It was a low end item. An antenna filter, couln't find it local or online in canada, and radioshack is gone. It was a pain signing up to be an e-bay buyer.

It cost me 9.99 U.S. and 1.00 postage.
It arrived in my mailbox, no tax or customs, maybe because of the cheap price.
My first e-bay purchase was a great success. !!!

Now, if i could only stop e-bay from sending me junkmails, filling up my inbox with offers, i'd be happy.

Today is the first time the temperature has been above 0 in a month, so maybe i'll get around to installing that filter to see if it helps....

I myself have bought many and i meen many items off of e-bay and only been ripped off once by a seller (who no longer sells) good thing it was a cheap item and i did finally get my moola back.
Note: not of the stuff i bought was audio.....not a chance.
Keep in mind before you buy off of e-bay to carfully check out the seller and their feedback.

I buy all kinds of crap on ebay... closest to a burn got me 2 35lb sub motors and 15" baskets for the cost of shipping... and more recently I had to return a flat screen monitor that was garbage for an exchange (still saved a bunch of $$$ even though I had to pay to ship it back)

I've bought everything from cell phones to subs, car amps, and digital cameras..... and never had any real problem......

Ebay has a great feedback system, if people took the time to read people feedback they could avoid alot of trouble. I have personally bought alot of stuff on Ebay, Amplifiers, speakers, headunits, A mint 97 crown vic with a 134,000km for $2200, In fact just picked up a brand new HID upgrade kit for $158 shipped where do you buy that in Canada that cheap. My amlifiers cost me a little under a $800 on Ebay 2 mtx 1501D, mtx 942 and mtx 1004, That kind of money wouldnt get me one of those amplifiers locally. Also bought a 200amp high output alternator on there for the price of a stock rebuilt one locally.
