Seriously guys how hard will they hit can they beat any subs around in the GTA ? lol
ive seen and heard jl sub's in action before....they will hit low notes nice and clean if theyre in the right enclosure with enough power, you will probally be impressed!......................................bu t if you want to be spl loud you might want to put more focus on the install and not be concerned with pretty subs like that. keep in mind also that the gta's loudest street vehicle's use between 3-8 killowats

you cant just ask. how hard will these hit? theres to many factors involved, also i doesnt matter what ohm the subs are wired at it doesnt make a difference to them what it does affect is the stability of the amp, if someone told you it is risky to run a sub at 1ohm you might wanna stop talking to that person. as for beating anything in the GTA, well they are better then some but there are much better out there as well.

Not sure where in Toronto you are but you should come out to the competition and car show this Sunday, at Keele St. and Highway 7. that would give you an idea.

no bro, w7's will get spanked in a comp. they are rather garbage when it comes to high power applications and competition. good subs for music tho.

the size a sub appears to be has nothing to do with how loud it will be... and they are right, at a competition if you have JL you are going to be beat pretty badly by someone with real comp gear.

you have to under stand that a jl will take 1000w and be fine, but try feeding it 4000 and see what happens, loud cars use big power! like 5000watt amps try running those subs off one of them and you'll see how un monster like they are. they are good for SQ with the right box but they are not an high SPL sub.

If you can get to that competition Yuli mentioned then do it, you'll learn what really loud is and what kind of gear it takes to do it. I'm sure on a daily basis youd be happy with the JL's just dont expect to beat down to many people because it wont happen.

W7's are not what you are looking for (as Yuli has stated)....w7's get "loud" while still sounding good.....but if all you're after is LOUD, these guys are giving you good advice.

I could be wrong, but aren't w7's 3 Ohm vc's?....if so it would be tough to show an amp a 1 Ohm load.

RE, TREO, Atomic, DD, TF ONE, american bass, Fi, yadda yadda yadda, there are a ton of subs that will make the w7 look like a speaker that someone took out of a toy.

The 13W7 has dual 1.5 ohm voice coils. So with 2 of them you could wire them up for a 1.5 ohm load.
