I am still building the mould for the subs, they look pretty good. I am using 1.5oz fibreglass mat and i was wondering how many layers would be enough. I currently have 3 layers, and its pretty strong. I cant stand on it, but I can put a lot of my body weight on it.

Just some observations:

I have used a lot more resin than I had expected to. I am 3/4 of the way done a 2L tin of resin and I am still working on the mould!

BTW, the release agent worked OK, better than if I hadnt used it at all. There are still some peices of tape stuck thoguh.

5 to 7 should do....a bit thicker on any large flat areas.

Dude, I understand they are experienced, but fibreglass comes in different weights. I have talked to a couple shops and they all use 1oz weight, and i am using 1.5oz weight. I thought it would make a diference. Read the first post, and then my third. I clarify the question in the third.

wow....where do you guys buy cheap fibreglass and fibreglassing stuff like resin? 4.5square yards, gallon resin resin and accompanying hardener, brushes, gloves, roller and i'm sure something else small, cost me around 350. is that a decent price?
