My local Alpine dealer (Factory Auto Sound) quoted me $625 + tax for it.

Sorry to butt in - is Factory Auto Sound a small chain? I ask because there was one in Edmonton until about 10yrs ago.

Factory Auto Sound is a local only shop as far as I know. Two brothers own it. It "HAS" been in business for ages tho, but I doubt they had another store.
