well as some may know, im looking for a new sub amp. now i had my eyes on an Orion 2500d, but im wondering if it would be overkill for a DD(daily driver)? see right now i have 400 WRMS for my sub, and the fronts/rears are off my deck. i find that the fronts/rears are overpowering my sub. so i was looking for a new sub amp, then i would put my other amp on the fronts. but after some thinking, i wonder if an Orion 1200d wouldnt be better suited for my needs. seems how it would be 3x the power i have now. one more thing, im not compeating, and i dont plan on buying a new alt, so i would think a 1200 would be better for me, since i wouldnt be able to run the 2500 properly.

so basicly im asking you guys what you'd do. would you get a 2500 or get a 1200 for DD car? oh and price is a big factor, the cheaper the better! but i dont want to get too cheap...

1200 watts should be plenty for a daily driver IMO but then again, i used to run 4000 in mine so it's personal opinion, but 1200 should be fine.

heh IMO 2500d..but I dont know how it will hold with the pathfinder...I'm prolly going with a 3000watt amp to power my 2 subs once i get them and well. I dunno if ol pathy will hold up haha. trial and error right? but the 2500, how many subs would that be powering and whats there rms..cuz you might destroy em and like boolean said. personal preference. you wanna be really loud? haha

you never did say which series DD sub????

the DD 2500 series will go on fire with 500 watts to it mean while the 9900 series will take 5,000 watts easy..........and there are many series in between...........which one do you have?

hahaha ya i thought i might get some people thinking i meant DD subs...

well i think i will just stick with the 2500d, since i can get one for only $260 more then the 1200d. and i want it really loud...

as for subs, im not too sure yet. right now i have a Clif designs CD120C which WILL die with that much power, its only rated for 600 WRMS. soo im no too sure on what sub too get. tahts one reason the 1200d looked nice too me, it would be cheaper, and im sure it would be loud. well now im right back to where i started...

if you're not competeing 1200 watts is more than enough for a DD.I know a lot of friends sat in my car with one 15 and 1000 watts and swore they don't ever need a system that loud.
