how to reglue speakers (cone to voicecoil)?
just dug up a pair of Infinity Reference speakers out of my basement that are blown.
I figure since I have way too much time on my hands (ah, good ol' unemployment...
) these days, why not attempt to repair them?
The problem on both is that the cone has become separated from the voicecoil. I bought them that way a while back and they have since resided in the basement.
How do I go about repairing them?
thanks

you can fix em by sticking something through the pole vent and popping off the dustcap...then it is easy to use ome superglue to glue the cone back onto the coil and put the dustcap back on. Of course that assumes that those speakers have pole vents and dust caps which I don't know if they do or not
If you think you can do it without tearing the speaker apart... I'd go that rout...
Otherwise you can probably remove the spider/surround from the basket if you are carfull....
super glue gel will work, but you have very little working time. I would use epoxy. If you want to get fancey look for some permatex 41042 or similar.
Word of caution... realigning voice coils isn't always easy....
