My buddies Clarion Arx6570z is messing with him. It's either not powering up at all, flashing on and off, powering up playing for a bit then shutting off or working all together. It's all over the map. Any recommendations on what to do/check?

Thanks

it's no longer under warranty, the fuses are fine, no loose wires etc.

Disconnect the harness from the player and check each speaker line to see if it is going to ground. Does each speaker show impedence would be the next thing to check. Meter the power and ignition lines, see if they drop out while the vehicle is moving. Failing that, remove the harness and plug the deck into a new power source on a bench and bench test it there. If the problem still happens, it's time to send it to the old Clarion home in the sk....trash can.

Were you not the same guy who has been asking entry level knowledge questions for the past week? Yet you jump in and help someone with a troubleshooting question

I urge people to answer question they are qualified to answer

As far as your problem. MR2NR had some good suggestions but I think the best is to bench test it outside the car. That way you can isolate the car as the problem. If it still happens make sure your faceplate is fixed properly, otherwise its crapped
