To do that and still get the "wow" factor you would have to make a big part of the box out of plexiglass so people could see the other driver.

Also doesn't isobaric give you the same amount of out-put as a single sub, but you'll naturally still need 2x the power to run both subs?

Since not many people run isobaric these days (and a lot of people don't even know what the heck it is) I think that would give you a great wow factor.

you have to make sure you wire one sub out of phase or yes thery will cancell each other out.

So what exactly does the "clamshell" thing do? Just make things louder? How is the sq compared to a sealed box?

id probably just build a sealed box as big as possible and then just add a bunch of polyfill to it, then put it in and see how you like it.

yea and do you know the size of that alternator? and did you ever think about the suspension in that little thing

I was reading on the chevy site and it has an 85 amp alternator AND THAT IS WHAT MY QUESTION WAS WHEN I WENT TO MY CARAUDIO STORE! DAMNET! I was trying to remember to ask them if they could put more coils on my alternator. That is like a 15 minute drive to the store. Ah, ohwell. I probably won't get to the subs/amps for another month but the HU will probly be going in this weekend. And that poly fill thing is a good idea. Is that stuff expensive?

Running 2 drivers in a "clamshell" or "isobarik" setup lets you use the drivers in half the space a signle driver would normally use. So a single sub that usually needs 2cf sealed could would work the same in a 1cf sealed box if 2 drivers are clamshelled together. It works identically the same for ported boxes, bandpass boxes, etc. All box volume requirements are halved when a pair of subs are used isobarikally compared to a single sub.

The downside is that becuase you dont have any additional cone area from using the 2 subs, efficiency stays the same, assuming identical power input ("x" power for 1 sub vs. "x" power for both subs isobarikally).

Another advantage is less distortion, because one of the drivers has to be wired out of phase, some distortion ends up cancelling out.
