To me it sounds like he's been blowing speakers and does not know why, all the subs he listed originally are decent subs, but for them to blow is a serious problem. By him just changing to a different sub will not solve the problem. It sounds more like he is asking something of the subs that they are not designed for, has the wrong box, is clipping all over the map and no offence intended, does not know how the system is supposed to work properly. Who put this sytem together for you and installed it? It sounds like if you do not learn why these subs are blowing, then you are going to continue to blow new subs.

I hate to be straightforward on this, but nine times out of ten the user is who blows the subs.

Before doing any more sub purchasing, I would look into analyzing how the system is set up. Stuff like gain settings, how well the power/ground/speaker output connections were and what type/size of box those subs were in.

Jettalemon, I think you should first get someone in your area that's willing to have a look at your system.

I put 1000 odd watts into my subs, how come I'm not blowing them left and right?

You are clipping it most likely to be killing them that fast...

A howling noise coming from his trunk though? Whoa..
Bad ground maybe? A screw through a speaker wire? Miswired terminals? Broken amp?

Damn you bumpin talon i was gonna say that. Broken amp would be my guess too... I had a old mtx blue thunder 300x2 and it was defective from factory and it made all kinda crazy noises so i just took it to a shop and had it exchanged and the problem went away
