like the topic says, I need a new deck. The eclipse I have is starting to skip pretty easy and it dosent have pause.

I would like to try bass race. from what I have seen pause is kinda needed to get a good start.

I would like something with a volume ****, not buttons. Pause and a USB port.

I have been looking around alot and havent seen much I like.

Eclipse dosent have pause.

The pause on most pioneers is in a menu. And the one I was looking at needs a $120 add on for the USB

not a big fan of the new alpine offerings, although they are not totally ruled out

there are a couple kenwoods I am interested in, but I am a little worried about the durability of them, the last one I had went in for warrenty repair of the display 3 times. Every time the sub really hit the display would go blurry and after a while it would just die. So it just got demoted to use in the daily driver.

JVC , sony, blaubunkt... are not an option for me.

So..... any suggestions?

I dont really have any set price in mind, nothing too crazy but not cheep. I guess it would depend on wether I found it to ba a good deal...

 

I've been a big fan of Kenwood Excelon decks for years....I do have to admit I've never had a problem with the display, maybe I need to get louder.....

All the new KWs have *****, a USB port and a pause control.....that should do the trick for you.....I'm pondering taking my KDC-X889 out and putting in a KDC-X992 just cuz the newer display looks soooo pretty......

Don't know if that helps you but it's Saturday morning and I feel the need for new toys.....

Do the new kenwood decks still do that screen saver thing where the display flips from bright to dark?

Which model of Pioneer were you looking at? All the ones I have seen have the usb input.

My concern is which will have better navigation through the usb thumbdrive?

420guy here could probably tell you, he just put a KDC-X991 in his car....
