IASCA Build Pics

Here are a few shots from my IASCA (car audio) competition days. The install was done by Perfect Audio in Pickering.

Door buildouts are custom made. Plexi speakers surround is painted to match the color of the car. Note the q-logic kick panels. Doors have dual 6.5" mids.

Dash has Audio Control EQT equilizers and an Audio Control ESP-2. Control **** for the ESP-2 is built into the cigarette lighter. ALL the AC controls and vents work!!

The three Soundstream Reference amps power the front, door and subs. The subs are Soundstream Reference 10" sealed. The amp cover clears the roller shade. With the shade pulled, you can't see the system.

The lighter element was moved to the ashtray as well as switches to control the amp fans and neon light. I had a Clarion head unit which I later changed for Eclipse.

1994...IIRC this was the first Soundstream car in Canada. It was sponsored by Soundstream USA and Jestar.....and still cost me over $16,000. I swapped out the front end in 1995 from Soundstream to some MB Quart. Back then, judges seemed to really love MBQ. Had enough points in 96 to go to the world finals but had work commitments.

Not sure....I'll visit some of the shows this year. I need to see if what I'm planning makes for a competitive IASCA car.

Ahhh.....no

Priorities are...

1. Get the car back on the road (see sig)
2. Stereo Install
3. Cam and head swap...need more POWER

I was gonna say it looked like it was at least 10yrs old but didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings in case it wasn't. Good god that's alot of money, especially for being sponsored too.

In the early 90s in Calgary there was a GN with a pair of MC500s, a pair of MC300s, a SS18, a pair of SS10s, and a very neato neon Soundstream sign on the trunk lid. It was a Pro car and I figure it had to be sponsored.

Curious as to why Grand Nations have been used so much for SQ systems? My dad has one... MINT condition only 20 000KM on it all original even the tires...

Wonder if he would let me do an SQ install on it
