Exclamation icon mt-743 problem

I'm new to car audio. Recently purchased a vehicle with system already installed. Pioneer AVIC-N1 DVD Multimedia AV Navigator, Pioneer CDX-P1280 Changer, 2 Interfire Amps, L7 Kicker Subs, bunch of speakers (like that?!) and 4 ICON MT-743 monitors.

With the car running, i place a DVD in the deck and turn on all monitors. Everything is fine. With the engine not running but power on, the deck (and deck screen) will play the DVD with sound coming from the speaker system. The monitors will not come on. When I press the power button on one of them, it flashes on for a split second then goes off.

I think this is weird given power is being supplied and my assumption is the car should not have to be running. Any comments are appreciated.

wow 4 monitors in a mustang convertible... only thing I can think of is that they grabbed their power wire or ground from a bad spot.

There's 2 in the trunk and 1 on each door that have lambo hinges. I guess I'll strip everything out and redo. The trunk is customized with the screens, subs, 2 amps, and a pair of speakers.

Check that your emergency brake does not need to be on, as most DVD HU's have a wire that needs to be grounded (normally through E-brake) in order to engage video. Could it be fluke that you have the e-brake on when running?

I was just thinking of what I do when I start a manual car, make sure its out of gear engage e-brake, depress clutch and start.

If its not running sometimes I just put into gear without e-brake.

That was my though process on that.
