Ignition squeel on Pioneer avic n3 in an XK8

I had a Pioneer Avic N3 installed in my '97 Jaguar XK8 and everything works beautifully except for a squeal in the audio when I turn down the volume. I can hear the engine rev and slow down as a squeal in the audio. I'm not even sure its coming through the speakers. It sounds like it's coming from the radio itself. I'd appreciate any help in figuring out how to stop it, it's driving me nuts.
Thanks, Rich

Does the car have amplifiers in it or is the deck powering speakers directly?

Thanks for the quick response Paul.
No amp, the deck powers the speakers. Yes it is hooked up to XM radio and traffic, and has the ipod converter, but that it's.

disconnect the ground from the deck and temporarily run a ground wire from your battery to the ground on your deck. 16 guage primary wire will work fine for the test, see if grounding directly to the battery causes a change in the noise issue.
