I recently bought a 98 lumina and put a system in it. as i said im new to this stuff so i know very little about any thing to do with audio. I have 6, 5 1/4 speakers in my car(2 of them are still stock) i have 2 of them located in the front, they are rock ford's last years modle i think, they were on a sale table (sumtins wrong wit them, they rattle). Then i have the other 4(2 of them are stock and the other 2 are Pioneer TS-G1317) in on the back dash (custum made speaker box's by lumina_kid, that's me). i still have my stock 6X9's in the rear dash. Then for a deck i have a Sony CDXF7705X (that's the most expensive thing in the car). For subs i got 2 10" JENSEN subs (bare with me the closeest thing to a electronics store here is a radio shack), plus thier located in my custum made sub box (i need a new box). and lastly for an amp i have a jensen jxp720, 720 watt i got it from radio shack. if any buddy could give me some tips on making this system better i would greatly apriciate it.

well the plywood isnt helping anything out you should make the box atleast out of .5" mdf that would be better for those subs looking at the jensen site your subs are probably 150wrms each so 300wrms and you amp does RMS Power at 2 Ohms 180 W x 2 RMS Power at 4 Ohms 130 W x 2 so you are fine. but with your deck you are trying to power more speakers than the deck can do you need to lose 1 set of speakers. and i know you are from canada but where the province

Here is what you do.....scrap the sony deck, and get rid of everything that is Jensen or plywood. than buy a decent sub from someone on this website, and an amp. Get rid of some of those 5 1/4" speakers, keep the 6x9's. Also get a deck that is not! sony, Jensen, Road gear, or AIWA. Than use atleast .5" MDF for the box, and learn to stay away from radioshack unless you need connectors.

so you live in alberta and your in shop class...high school I assume. What city and high school you in, I might have been there before (been to 4 high schools in alberta). Is it in Calgary, Lethbridge, small town of Devon? And I would lose the stock 5 1/4" and keep those pioneers, pioneer speakers are actually pretty nice.

Well i live in vermilion a town no one has ever heard of. i go to J.R.Robson. and to get rid of those speakers is going to be a pain. i have no idea how the guy installed it, im going to get him to come here 2 morrow and help me out. Cause if i unplug the thing for the rear 5 1/5 it unplugs my subs(me think this because i still need the inpput thing plugged in). And then i was listening to it with the 5 1/4 unplugged (got little hook ups on the back). i can't hear my 2 6X9. so i'm really going to have to get the guy to help me, before i mess up my system.
