I have installed a grand total of one indash flip screen and I bypassed the brake switch. It wasn't even an option IMO.
I cannot control the moron driving down the road at 200kph any more than I can control him driving down the road watching a movie.
I hate the "socially responsible" crap. People have to be responsible for their own actions. If some dumbass wants to watch a movie while driving then I damn well hope he gets busted for it too. If someone other than the driver gets hurt than that's a damn shame but don't point the finger at me. (although a lawyer would becuz they are scum)

...and how would you feal if you or someone close to you were killed because some moron was driving down the road watching tv.
I know my self I wouldn't be very happy and would most likely invested 2k on a assault riffle then.

what about liability? Wheren't they going after shops who installed remote starts in manuals without safety procedures? I seem to remember some old lady got mashed, and they deemed the shop at fault...again, correct me if i'm wrong.

it has been brought to my attention by one of my installers that on the news they had a report
on drivers watching tv while driving....one case in particular guy went through a red light into
heavy traffic.
dont quote me on the fine however i believe the
fine is $1000.00 for the shop and or installer

On the news two nigths ago, there was a guy in northern alberta who was charged with driving with undo car and attention killing a mother and her daughter while watching a DVD on an indash screen...liability...I think so, this one will change our industry.

"liability" my ***. The installer never put in the DVD and told the guy to watch it while driving.
The driver killed those people - no one else.
And I don't buy the crap that the e-brake wire is a "safety feature" either. Next thing installers will get liable if they leave the 'dimmer' wire unconnected and some dip**** flips his deck on at night and claims he was blinded by the fully illuminated display.
It's dumb.

You are installing a product into a person's car... not common sense into their brain. If they wanted the e-brake bypassed so be it... just get them to sign a waiver saying they demanded it bypassed.
