ok well i wasnt too far off then. i though about it and came up with $193.29. thats with:

-install of 2 sets of speakers
-install/exstall of HU in the forester
-install/exstall of HU in the pathfinder
-cost of sub(not yet installed cost=91.20 with tax)
-cost of HU harness for forester
-and i had too run ALLLLLLL the way to the other end of town to get the sub...

so does that sound like and OK price?

and thanks alot.

That stuff doesn't take long to do at all.

If he is your buddy you should provide the labour for free.

I agree, I install things for my friends all the time free of charge. If they wanted to pay full price they would probably go to a professional to have it done.

No I'm saying I am a nice guy and don't try to profit from my friends. Besides, usually you help a buddy out and he will help you out at some point. What goes around comes around.

^All good points but, wd21 must have already weighed them and has made a deal with someone to do work.
Remember the kid is 15yrs old and is trying to make some cash, it's not like working buddies helping each other out on the weekend. That's where the beer payment deal works well!

Since your not a professional I wouldn't charge him full price. I would calculate it at pro price and split it down the middle so if it came out to $200 by a pro charge him $100 that way you still get some cash out of it and he feels like he got a deal. I would for sure charge him though. A couple of people are saying do it for free. But remember your time is worth something and those favors you do never come back to you then they expect it all the time for them and their friends. I have the same problem not taking money from people, but it always comes back to bite me in the ***. CHARGE FOR YOUR TIME.
