Installed new alternator today
#1
Well, today I got my new alternator installed. My stock crx alt is 65 amps, while the new one I have is 140 amps !
I had purchased the alt from Loud Brown Kicker Colt in Calgary. It is custom built to not use the OEM plug...Hook up the positive wire and away you go. Now the alt is all custom built, the regulator is self exciting,it uses stray magnetism to sense when the rotor is turning, and turns the field on.
It internally measures the output voltage, and controls it.
The single wire charging system is popular for heavy trucks, vintage cars, smooth look(hidden wire)installs, and non oem applications(like mine).
Highly recommend this for any Honda or Japanese cars , since most of their alts are weak.

Glad to hear you like it I have a 200 amp alt from Rob V.O. that I'm going to be installing very soon. I just need a larger bracket for the top, which Rob is taking care of for me
Best of luck with the setup
