Talking Introducing high voltage decks and eq's to old school amps.

I just bought myself 2 new decks both are Alpine. One has 2 volt pre outs and the other has 4 volt pre-outs.
I also have a line driver built into my crossovers (audio control 24xs) and in my eq's (audio control EQT's).
Will I have any issues with my old school amps?
I have the below amplifiers which I will be using.
Zapco Z300's
Hifonics VII
Hifonics VIII

Hoping you guys that have all the knowledge can help me out.
Please let me know.
I'll be doing some work on my vw jetta this weekend and it would be nice to know.

Similar answer to that "? watts" thread...

My HU has 5.0v preouts. My RF amp and my Clarion amp both have their gains set ALL the way down, no increase at all.

My Alpine's had to be turned down from it's "normal" middle setting.

And then adjust sub amps to balance it all, as they're capapble of 9v inputs.

Your amps shouldn't even see the low HU voltage, as it's all increased with your line drivers, so there shouldn't be any difference at all between the HU's......... I thinks.......

As a guess, I bet you'll be dialing down your old school amps all the way and then increasing the outputs from your line driver to set everything...

Yes that is what I was going to do at the amp level. I just don't want to damage the amps in any way. I guess turning down the gains will be the best plan, thanks.
Any other comments out there?

It'll handle it just fine. I wouldn't worry. I've used two 4V decks on my old Alpine EQ and xover. No problems at all. Your amps I'm sure will be fine.

i have doubts on that one, I ran my old school RF punch power 1000 with a 4volt input with gain turned down ended up burning up a resistor or something cause the input was to much. at least what i was told by the guy that fixed it.

Rockford was making the Symmetry EPX which had a 10vrms output the same year they were making the Power1000 amp and not one of the RF amps of that day were spec'd to handle 10vrms.

That's just one example as most of the manufacturer's back then that manufactured both amps and processor's had the same scenario (and Audiocontrol has been making EQT's, etc. well back into the oldschool amp era).
Your amp willl be just fine.
