An Introduction - Hanging around for awhile.
Hello Jared. How are things at the
top of the left coast?
Well, I think I'm spending a lot, but I guess
it's all relative.
What I've saved would probably be small change for
many others. For me, it took months to put aside.
Just out of curiosity, what would you consider
as a lot of money? I'm always interested in
having other people's input and opinions.
And even if you did you would stil be driving craptastic speakers. Take the advise given and upgrade the speakers first. Your stock deck will provide decent SQ.
hmmmm... (with frown and furrowed brow.)
I just re-read my original message and now
realize I've left out some info that I should
probably have included.
viz: I know that replacing the head first
will not have as significant or as noticeable
an improvement in SQ as replacing the speakers
before the head.
And that I am deliberately doing the upgrade this way!
I am sacrificing the immediate gain in sound
quality improvement in order to obtain the
features in the new unit that don't exist in
the stock unit. Those are more important and
immediate to my wants/needs.
I've lived without SQ for the past year while
planning my upgrade. I can go a few months
more before the speakers get swapped
Nope, I sure did not forget. But I've decided
to forgo it for now for a couple of reasons.
I put a lot of km's on the car, which is costing
me a lot of money. I need to do some serious
research into how much the additional weight
of deadening may add to my costs. And with
the freakin' gas prices now...
C-me,
Tim.

Welcome bro, there's a big cluster of us audio heads here in Kitchener. If you're looking for gear, peter at Maximum Threshold is a great guy to go to. Always helpful, very informative, and no BS sales crap. He mainly does SPL, but he is learning the ways of the almighty SQ gods.

As soon as I saw Omnipotent Bastard Admin.,
I assumed that you were in the computer field
