Hello, I am a Canadian university grad working in the Czech Republic for a car dealership called AUTO Heller. And I need to conduct research on how Canadian car dealers introduce new models of cars. Here I when they introduced the newest Skoda Octavia they had a big party with models, food, and other entertainment before the actual unveiling of the car. And I was wondering if anyone knows how Canadian car dealerships or car companies introduce a new model of car. I know that there are bigger car shows but what do the dealerships do?? Thanks in advance for all your help!

I don't think i've ever seen a dealership throw a party for a release of a new model.. except the new mini. Most kafuffel (how the hell do you spell that??) I've seen for a new car was at car shows.

Normally car manufacturers resort to television commercials/advertising. And i know you guys in Czchekoslovakia got television, utilize it.

By the time a new car gets to a dealer the general public is well aware of it's existance. So there is no need for a dealer to advertise it.

At a local dealership here they had a HUGE party for the unveiling of the Chrysler 300M. My mom was invited since she's owned a couple Chryslers, and a couple weeks before the invitations from Chrysler were mailed out, she had just bought a brand new Jeep TJ ...

Autoheller,

I've recieved a few RSVP invitations from the dealership I bought my car from. They were formal events at the dealership after normal hours to introduce new models.

In general I've found new car roll outs to be great networking sessions with other car enthusiasts. Providing a kind of "upscale" private club environment makes for an enjoyable evening.

I wish I could attend more parties like that.

I don't think there are any Canadain car companies.
And most people in the US think we spend too much time on dog sleads to worry about.
No parties for us .. anyone want a snowball fight?
