Exclamation Ipod video and an Alpine head unit

Hey fellow Canucks,

I've got an Alpine Head unit IVA-D310 (CD/DVD/WMA) player.
Recently I've bought an Ipod video and I'm wondering if I will be able to play videos/movies etc through the Alpine head unit.

I've got the Alpine ipod adapter coming too
(I think the model number is KCA-420i).

I don't see it being a problem as long as the video files are WMA - since that is the type of files the head unit states it can play. The ipod is just a storage device for the files that will play on the head unit right?

I'm just wondering b/c I have no idea how the KCA-420i comes into play. Does anyone have any experience using one of these? Can it play movies as well as music?
Thanks

ipod is not just a storage unit. your 310 will be used only to output sound and video, all the file reading is done by your ipod.

i have the same 310 alpine and the video ipod, i didnt go that rout tho, i got the audio/video output cable from apple and just hooked it up to the 310 aux inputs.

the IVAd310 does not have direct control for Ipod video, you will be able to access the music through the Ipod controller but no video. You will have to watch the video through the AV input BUT you will have to control the video through the actual Ipod
