Ipod Mini with the newer Alpines sound that bad???

I heard that using an Ipod Mini with the newer Alpine head unints sounds bad, and basically doesn't work properly. Any truth behind that because I just ordered a 9885 and the cable too because I am planing to use it with my Ipod Mini.

I was using my buddy's... really old... iPod last night with my iva-d300 and didn't have a problem, and mini's are newer. I don't see why it would have a problem.

I use my 5th gen ipod vid. with the 9885. No complaints from me. The only thing I hate about my 9885 is that I couldn't use my old 3rd gen Ipod!! The 9856 allowed me to, but the 9885 doesn't like it for some odd reason.
