Ipod2car for 2004 Z24
Hi everyone, I'm new to the boards so sorry if I push a wrong button or two.
I have 2004 Cavalier Z24 with, according to the brochure: A "Delco AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 with Premium Amplified 6 Speaker System, Speed compensation volume control, Radio Data System and Theftlock. I don't have XM or OnStar. That's all the info I have: No Model #. No specs. No nothing. But I like the stereo and would rather not have to change it.
My problem is I want to hook up my Ipod to get "cd quality' sound. I've been using an fm transmitter which sucks. Vancouver doesn't seem to have any unused bandwidth left.
The dealer says my stereo doesn't have a changer port in back(even though it's got a CD/Aux button). They don't do car stereo installation & I got the feeling they couldn't care less. In short I don't really trust their answers. But I have to trust them because I don't want to rip the dash apart.
Does anyone out there know anything about this stereo? Seen the back? Any ports etc? Or any other way I can hook the Ipod up to get better sound?
Thanks for any help.

Just did a quick search and this comes up as the proper unit for your car.
I'm sure there are lots of other brands as well.

Thanks for the info. I checked out Peripheral's site and the installation manual for that unit says I need a changer port or XM port to work. The dealer says I don't, Future Shop says I do. The picture of the oem GM deck on Peripferal's site looks exactly like mine. But it doesn't seem like I'm going to know for sure until I get the deck out and take a look at the back. And even if there is a port I won't know if it's active or not. This was the top of the line stereo system for the 2004 Z24 so I can't believe it's not expandable.
Has anyone out there actually seen the back of these decks?
Thanks
