Jalat's Audio System Overhaul

My goal with this overhaul is to assess the electrical issues with my system and add a few missing links.

Didnt feel like keeping my old wiring as it was used and abused a bit to much. I also wanted to make sure the install looks some what neat and tidy.

So after some help from others, and an order from knukonceptz, I came up with all this:

My main plan for my system is to stay within the rules of Street A, and possibly bassrace in the 139.9 class. The main concern was the electrical. I planned to run an extra batt in the trunk, but that would obviously kick me outta Street A. Instead, I used my Yellow Top as a starter batt and completed the BIG 3.

The gains were very good. Idle voltage went from 13.6 to 14.3 and full tilt voltage (at idle) went from 12.5 to 13.4 volts. (all voltage measured from the front battery. All BIG 3 wiring is done in 4AWG)

More progress tommorow

looks to be secure though, should have something where the wire is in contact with metal parts....but im sure its pretty safe

Gotta love the temp wiring. LOL Just don't do it like me and leave the temp setup in for 6 months. LOL Looks like a good start though. Let me know any time you want a hand bro.

Looks good man. I hate running wires more than anything else. Is that the kolossus flex cable? I got some to put in my car shortly, and that stuff is flexible as hell! Finally, 0 gauge that is decent to work with. Puts my old Stinger cable to shame.

Fuses are cheaper than a new car that is not covered by insurance when they find that the fire was caused by a non fused line that shorted....

Finished the install today. I'm pleased with the results. Amplifying the speakers was probably the most satisfying. Midbass is much more dominant and my highs are unbelievably clearer.

Eventually I will create a baffle or trim plate to go over all the wiring and only expose the face of the amps. I will also carpet it. But as ofright now I am aiming for functionality over 'looks'.

Lightbulb

Looks good....I did notice after you loomed the alt to battery wire you also dropped one of the tie-wraps holding the wire to the body....I was wondering about having enough slack in the wire to allow for the engine motion during acceleration but you seem to have it corrected......

Hope that helps your scores today....good luck......
