my father informed me today that we're getting as new windsheild put on the car so hopefully i'll be able to find a rearview similar to the one i broke

is the main power wire ran though the door jam? its hard to tell from the pictures.

unfortunatly, yes it is. in due time, i will eventually have to cut into the firewall because there is no accessable spot for me to run it threw.

i'd rather take the time and do it right with someone who is knowledgable with where things are in a car so i dont drill threw something like a steering column

This is a fantastic example of best intentions done wrong. Sorry Jalat, but your car is a fire hazard. The most important part of any install is safety. Because no speakers sound good while they are on fire.

i've seen worse done at install bays like future shop and best buy. your right, i shouldnt go threw the door jam, but at the same time, theres no possible way its going to catch on anything. the jam itself is so large i can almost fit my hand in there with the door closed (also the wire is loomed twice over)

I've seen far worse come out of install bays too. It really is a nightmare out there for what passes as "professional" work. Keep it safe and pleae get that wire throught he firewall with a proper grommet as soon as ya can

it will get done, but for the time being, i'll risk the inferno
