JL 1000/1 vs MMATS D1600.2

So these two amps are pretty much rated the same in terms of power output.
The JL says 1000 RMS between 1.5-4 ohms while the MMATS is rated at 1150 RMS at 2ohms. The physical size difference is appalling. The MMATS amp is less than half the size of the JL. Has anybody ever had experience with BOTH? I know that MMATS is serious stuff but the size and weight of the amp is kinda shocking compared to the JL. Does the MMATS amp really put out more power than the significantly larger JL?

I can't speak for the MMATS but the JL has solid output through that entire load of 1.5-4ohms. I owned a 1000/1 years ago and it was a great amp. Excellent on board controls. I would go with the JL.

Im a huge Mmats fan and they really do put out that power and more...expect to get around 1600 out of that amp...
the JL on the other hand you will be lucky to get over 1100... the JL does have alot more controls but welll hey didnt mmats revolutionize class d technology? yeah I thought so... so which amp do you buy? the one that designed or the one that bought the rights
MMATS is NOT MADE IN CHINA!

Lol. I have both. Never got a chance to install the mmats yet. I was just shocked by the sheer size difference and weight. I've heard nothing but good things about mmats and the 90% efficiency of this amp is a pretty attractive number.
