I have a tit 12 here with me right now and comparing the w7 to the titanium is sort of no comparison.. The titanium is clearly built from off the shelf parts (not a bad thing at all) clearly TC sounds engineered and built.

SQ diff between the tit and the w7 is very different, the titanium gets very loud granted proper box and power however its good for music with simple bass lines.. IE: most rap, hip hop etc... Its alot boomier than the w7 and is not as tight or punchy... Now all of this is based on the comparisons ive done. All my opinion, but as a general customer i will tell anyone if a product is better than the other. and i have yet to find a sub better than the w7.

Just like dave said, you cant expect to buy a ferari for the price of a fiero.

lots of guys have great respect for the Velodyne servo's. they are a pricey sub, they are acclaimed to be amongst the best in the world.. In terms of sq, however i will tell you right now that the w7 sounds a heck of alot better than it.. and gets much louder very easily.. now people dont complain about its price because its somewhat of a rarity now.. The w7 is knocked because it has spl capabillities and is a big name in the industry.... Why do you think its technology has been so appreciated and reknowned worldwide? Because it is the new benchmark of sub technology..... its as simple as that.

plus 33 mm of linear stroke is tough to beat.. even with todays super sub standards.

overhang = no sort or lagging bass with fast paced attacks, the tit, the stroker, the inhuman, all suffer from it..

other subs are good, heck i would use em.. sure why not.. but the w7 is a heck of alot of sub for the price you pay for it. we all know that alot of guys dont pay retail for their stuff. home audio guys pay thousands for there stuff they are just called audiophiles, 700-1000 bucks for a w7 is really not that much, considering the amount of technology incorporated into it and what it will do for years to come, purolate that money over lets say 5-6 years.. now the price doesnt seem so tough to swallow.

Seems like it was just yesterday I was having heated debates with Kriston about this very same subject. Kriston was a Brama fan and I remember he gave every possible reason why he thought the W7 was not worth the price, he thought that JL's exclusive DMA software (Dynamic Motor Analysis) was a crock etc etc.........

Funny how things changed once he heard one.

I never noticed a problem with group delay, or overhang on the stroker. On the Ti, yes, but I'm thinking on putting the Ti into a sealed enclosure and feed it plenty of power.

You could also check out CA&E's review of the Ti 15, they were very impressed and thought it to be extremely musical and no overhang, despite the high mms.

I think overhang is all a matter of how it is installed. I agree the Ti isn't made for anything above 60Hz, it kind of steeply rolls off.
"Overhang"... I hate that word. Group delay! lol
