It it designed to use the volume control supplied with the system.

The Cleansweep takes the source signal and digitally equalizes it for flat response - this is to compensate for head units from Honda and Chrysler (for example) that have extensive built-in equalization that sounds terrible with aftermarket speakers. It provides a 'level' playing field from which you can build a system.

IF you want equalization in the system, you can still do it with the head unit, but you can't recalibrate the Cleansweep after making your settings, or it will negate them.

Very cool product.

 

Actually you can use the factory volume **** if you want, especially if the factory vehicle doesn't have volume dependant equalization (like most GM now).

 

the cleensweep is easily the coolest product i saw at ces this year, althought not a jl dealer i will be getting some because we are doing so much factory integration, like dave said it let you start with a more level playing field
