JL Cleansweep
#1
Does anyone know how much the Cleansweep will sell for and when it will be arriving in stores? I think May is the release date.
Also, will the deck EQ and volume still function? Or do you need an EQ down signal from the Cleansweep and use only the master volume control?

This long thread may help. Manville Smith from JL Audio has a number of posts in the thread.

It it designed to use the volume control supplied with the system.
The Cleansweep takes the source signal and digitally equalizes it for flat response - this is to compensate for head units from Honda and Chrysler (for example) that have extensive built-in equalization that sounds terrible with aftermarket speakers. It provides a 'level' playing field from which you can build a system.
IF you want equalization in the system, you can still do it with the head unit, but you can't recalibrate the Cleansweep after making your settings, or it will negate them.
Very cool product.

I just bought a 2006 Civic coupe and am probably going to have to get one of these Clean Sweep things installed.(Adding my own deck isn't an option the way these Honda stereos are part of the dash now)
Any other options out there?
