Cut out the middle man, throw a full on PC in your ride. It's a little work, but the rewards are awesome. Check out mp3car.com

I have a full desktop pc mounted in my trunk, 3000 mp3's, a few hundred videos, 40 movies, full gps navigation that you can update, and control it through my cell using a bluetooth remote. You can get a 7" touchscreen to control it, but I have a Kenwood Double DIN DVD in the dash and use that as the screen.

myself its with a dual layer dvd, only major draw back is I need to burn a new disc everytime I add more music but at least the disc's aren't exspensive

I"ve tried using the USB jack on the head unit but it sucks, starts playing from the beginning everytime the car is started

how do you use an Ipod with only one wire, does it not need to be provided with power or does it run off the USB port in the deck for power?

usb and data are usually all in one for the IPOD connectors.

IPOD would be my route of choice as well if i could afford an 80 or 100gb IPOD.

IPOD not a bad idea as a alternative to my current setup, just hide it in the unused ashtray below the deck.
