i heard that facing them back is better bcause as we all know low frequency wavelengths are very long, 20feet and up, therefore the subs sound better facing backward because once the wave bounces off the back of the car and all the way to the front is longer distance than going straight to the front. (more of the wave is in the car)
is what i heard bull**** or fact, although there is some fact, sounds like bull to me

nope, not bull.. That's also why you get better bass response when standing further away from a Subwoofer in room

dukk... IF you are right, does that mean if i face the sub forward and make the box flush with the back seat so that when the seats are down the speaker box fills in the gap between the front of the car and the trunk, there sould not be any cancellation going on in the trunk therefore should sound good right?

I had my 1000bd on 2 DVC MTX 8000s for about 3 months.... I play alot of bass intensive music ... and even played some test tones a couple of times... not once did it go into protection for the low impedance.... and only ONCE did it go into protection from overheating.... after driving from Montreal to Toronto on a 28 degree day!
