JVC KD-AR560?
#1
I was out kicking tires on decks, as my old Alpine is in need of some repairs. I was looking at the JVC KD-AR560:
I must say, for around the $200 range, triple preouts, MP3/WMA playback, and 24 bit Burr Brown DAC, it is tempting. Controls feel decent too. Any feedback on this? I have tried the Alpine 9815/9835 and was not a big fan of the sound, compared to my old school Alpine. Don't like the looks of the new Eclipse, and I need detachable face where I live. Any people have any personal experience with this deck? Thanks!

It's a nice piece especially for the price.
JVC has a from me. Very good sound quality, and a nicely built transport. I like the fact that the faceplate is not motorized, but rather nicely damped. Well layed out controls, and a host of good features, including a front line-in, for a great price.
Having said that, I do sell them , and I've sold the other brands as well, I know you will like the sound of the JVC, having already heard the SQ of the Alpine and Eclipse. You'll probably find that, the JVC embodies tonal characteristics that seem to combine a bit of each of the other brands.
Enjoy it.

The Kenwood KDC-MP4028 looks pretty decent also, quite a few features: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/L...&k3=23&pr=1990

^^ You don't know if it has a built in sub crossover do you, couldn't really tell from what I had looked at online.

It says 24 bit resolution 1 bit DAC, what does that mean? I noticed the more expensive models actually state "burr brown 24 bit", so is this model not a true 24 bit dac?
