Kaption Audio
#1
Hello everyone!
I was at at East Hamilton Radio here in Hamilton, and they recommended Kaption Audio products and put together a package for me consisting of:
Kaption HDX-692 6x9's
Kaption HD-6.50 components
Kaption HO-50.4 Amp
(all spec's can be found at www.kaptionaudio.com)
I have been searching online, and haven't been able to find to much information or reviews on the performance and quality of their products. I was just wondering if anyone here had any experience dealing with Kaption, or have any comments about this setup.

Chris "wouldn't not" use it again... That's funny.
I can't attest to their reliablilty / longevity (as I don't have them for long enough), but I can attest to their excellent sound quality.. I have been quite impressed with everything they have sent. The amps in fact are very very nice.

The only Kaption equipment I've ever heard sounded good, but I'd steer clear of EHR myself. Their advertising budget is huge, and we all know who winds up paying for it...
There are several other places around the Hamilton area with comparable equipment that you might want to check out before you shell out the bucks.

I've used and still own the hd-6.50 components, they sound great. Didn't really play with the ho series amps; but i did beat the snot out of an hc-250 amp for a couple of weeks. It had a nice sound to it and had good power output. Same goes for the hc-75. Their subs are completly opposite I found them to be over priced and of cheap quality, even the spl series (I say this even though i have a brand new 12" for sale)

First stop should be your CD collection. Take at least one of your favourite discs (that you have listened to enough to know what it should sound like), and hit the road.
First place I would suggest is Burlington Radioactive at 3845 Harvester Rd., just west of Walkers Line on the north side. Ask for Lee, he carries JL, Clarion, RF, Memphis and Kenwood. Hopefully you'll hear something that sounds good to you out of all those brands....
Since you are down in the Steel City, you can try Audioworx on Barton St. in Stoney Creek ( forget the exact address, I think they are over near Grey's Rd on the north side). Jeff is better known for SPL vehicles, but they carry some nice equipment there as well.
There are a few other places around you, but those would be my first 2 stops.
