Kaption has always brought a good product to compete at it's respected price point whether it be speakers or amplifiers.
Support from Kaption has always been great and Tony is a great guy to help ya out if needed.

I am in agreeance that Kaption is an amazing brand of car audio, I work in a small local shop and we sell kaption day in and day out. Hands down the nicest sounding component speakers i have heard. We had a customer in our shop a month ago or so now, he wanted us to install alpine type r components and type s coaxials. These alpine speakers are priced almost identical to the kaption of the same series. We did a demo for this customer and he couldn't believe it, he now runs all kaption speakers in his jeep because they have one of the nicest sounds i have ever heard. As for the subs, the Cl series and the SPL series are both amazing SQ subs and SPL subs. When they are loaded in the proper box, and set up properly, they give one of the nicest, cleanest sounds with the added bonus of huge SPL if that is what you are looking for. Their amps are no different, we ran a total of 6 subs at about a half ohm load on a d700.1 and it just would not clip out. Their new 2008 product is no different. however, everything is personal preference, and not everyone will agree with me. just my .02....

I used to work in a shop where we sold lots and lots of Kaption product. Not once did we ever have a problem with them sounding "crappy" or being garbage. Plus we never had to warranty any of their products. We stopped carrying them because people were being cheap and wanted a 12" sub for $100, so we had to carry other brands.

imo kaption components are the best speakers you can get dollar for dollar. the components are better then alpine's, and the quality is next to none. I was going to go alpine type R components but listend to the kaption equivilant and never looked back. when i went to go do my subs and amp a week ago, looking at kaption, reading reviews and stuff, and even going in and hearing them in store (although once in car obvious the sound is different) i decided that kaptions amps were not up to par, and subs wer overpriced. so i went with the type R 10's and pdx 1.600 amp. amazing, i just fininshed the break in period, and love them. hits hard, and can keep up with rock music to boot. pair'd with my components type R subs and pioneer deck, i am extremly happy and belive that each company has its ups and downs

i never ran there subs but i did have there amps and 6x9 and 6.5 comp yes they sounded amazing in my 05 dodge magnum ...for the 1st mth but after that it started to sound muddy and then 3 out of 4 6x9s blow . Yes it was under warranty and then my sub amp blow ,no warranty then the 2nd pair of 6x9 went no warranty then the 4 channel died no warranty the only thing that stayed running was the 6.5 comps and my 2 12 type r. the worst part of this story is the fact that it was all installed buy the dealer at Noise Boyz in aurora ontario .....so go **** yourself .....CRAPTion ...ps i still have the 4 channel amp and a working pair of 6x9 s (free to a good home )...lol

The guy that thinks that type r's are better, LOL... learn something before you spout off. I have seen more pos type r's blow up than all other's put together!

There is nothing wrong with the product at all for its price point, learn to use stuff for what its intended for, install it properly, and you will have no problems!

Holy old thread batman!!!!!! with that said my 4 type-r 12's are still working great, sound good and loud enough that I wouldn't replace them. Kaption Audio was never anything great in my opinion, but the same can be said for lot of Alpine speakers and just about all Alpine amplifiers. Buy whatever works for you.
