i am going with 2 gage since i have about ten feet sitting around. Would it be better to go with 1 through.I don't think it would make much a difference?
get rid of all the factory grounds and replace with the aftermarket, also add an extra ground off of the (-) battery and go to the inside of the firewall near the battery preferably to an area that has a good surface to blast through to mount the cable and be sure to remove all paint so that it is bare metal. So end result you'll have 2 2guage grounds from your (-) battery terminal.

I would leave the factory grounds intact, the idea is to create more capacity.....

fair enough good call, my point was to replace it all so there is no oxidized cable period. Oxidization gives cable too much resistance as you already know, and too much resistance in a car audio set up can create problems. Better to delete a potential problem while your in there then having to go back in there if a problem arrises once the work has been done.

X2 Do not remove any factory wires. Just add the new ones on top of the originals. I did that with mine and works really well.

k this might sound stupid to you guys but i looked at my alternator and do i have to take the top off or something to get to the positive terminal. there is a black cable with a dull red stripe going into it . i"m thinking that it ???

I hounestly dont care if i mess up , money comes and goes ,i just wanna get self based experience so in future occasions ,i will know something

And the audio shop where i go to get my (ADVANCED ELECTRONICS-portage ave) I asked the guy about the big 3 and he didn't know what i was talking about and neither did his co workers.

That should be it. There should only be 1 big wire coming out of the alt, thats it. There should be a threaded stud sticking out the back with a wire attached with a nut to that post. Remove the nut, add your new wire, tighten the nut back up and you're done.
