Kenwood Kicker Combo??!?!
I have a 2000 intrepid. You will definitely get more bass by facing the subs to rear and about 8 inches from the rear of the trunk. This was a problem for me so i put 3x12" subs facing the interior to compensate and it sounds great with more than enough bass and I still have my trunk.
i've been running kenwood amps for a few years. i have no complaints whatsoever with them. however i am closer to a casual listener than a hardcore audiophile. i mean i know what sounds good, but i also know i have a high noise floor in a moving vehicle with the windows down. anyway, i've always found kenwood to be one of the better bargains when it comes to amps, and therefore the only amps i've bought new were kenwoods(used a few others that i bought off friends)
I personally wouldn't be worried about 'too' much power goin' to the subs as per not enough, almost every sub I've warrantied has been abuse due to being underpowered, I have yet to warranty a sub that was overpowered, cept for maybe 1 that was plugged into the wall (old driver with no warranty, actually launched the dust cap). Those subs will love the juice, and definately stay with the Kenwood amp.
The Kenwood class d amps are very impressive and you will find those power ratings are underrated we have installed many of thier amps and all the customers have been very happy.they are solid amps!!! and can't beat for the price.
