Well I am definately the king of mind changing. Out of curiosity I measured the prefab box that I got and punched the numbers into the volume calculator and it came up with 2.8 not 3 cf. They lie! I thought I could get away with at least 3 cf for 2 12's but 2.8 minus displacement will definately be too small. So if a reface that box and put in 2 10" re's minus displacement it comes to 2.56. That is perfect! I should have listened all along instead of trying to convince myself that something will work when it wont. Anyways that give me something to work on. I will just put a piece of 3/4 mdf over top of the face that exits now. What is something good to make the box face look good besides paint. Mabye carpet but I wan't something cool like blue leather or something.

Actually, if you have a decent shop vac you can lift a second piece of MDF through the first one. You're about to have 3 10" discs lying around - try it out.

What does this tell us - if you want your shop vac to sound it's best, don't put it in an MDF box :dunno:

I guess its like a ghost, you need to see it to believe it.

I am curious about the port on my box. It goes down the center and then flares to either side of the box into each chamber. Is this just another prefab trick or is this legite? I thought that ports shouldn't split. I should have a pic put I think you'll know what I mean. Btw, I have refaced the box for 10's. I am planning on putting Re sx's in there but I heard now that the new re sx's are made in china. Does anyone know if thats true and would these subs be any different from the old sx?
